The CISS has engaged in several activities over the past 6 months including:

- The formation of its advisory board

- 'Islamic Metaphysics in Bioethics: Animal-Human Experimentations' book

- United Nations' NGO Panel session on Iraq's religious heritage

- The formation of the CISS Press

- Its up and coming book entitled: 'The Shi'a of Samarra: The Heritage and Politics of a Community in    Iraq

- Several academic papers presented at conferences

- Expanded library and new website
